Eat an orange dammit! Small Changes, Big Impact

Updated: Aug 9, 2020

If I had a dollar for every time I heard "I eat so healthy I don't know why I can't seem to shake these last few pounds...." I'd be RICH (but I'd also be poor since I've said those words numerous times myself). The truth is our food system has made us believe that a few fat-free crackers here, a 100 calorie bag of pretzels there, are good low calories choices for us. But it's not, these are still calorie dense, highly processed, zero nutritional value foods and they're derailing you. I get it - you're busy and they're easy to have on hand, they don't spoil and don't require a lot of effort. But there are better choices.

Eating healthy isn't hard, I don't need to tell you that, but it does require the teensiest bit of planning. So start small, when you hit up the grocery store or instacart this week, add in a few sweet, luscious, golden, juicy oranges, and when you get that afternoon craving reach instead of grabbing a handful of packaged, highly processed whatever, substitute an orange. Not only does one orange pack a full days supply of immune boosting vitamin C, they're hydrating and will make you SMILE and feel great after you eat one. If you're daunted by how to peel an orange - here's a quick tutorial on orange peeling for you.

Try it and let me know how you feel!
